A carnival costume does much of the work before the camera starts. Feathers, beadwork, a sculpted headpiece or a long layered skirt tells the viewer that this is a night for dressing up, and a short clip can carry that story in a few seconds.

Carnival costumes are loud by design, so a few habits matter more than usual:
- Costume against costume: a busy backdrop of lights and banners swallows the piece. Choose a dark or plain background.
- Hidden silhouette: a crop at the knee or a cut-off headpiece removes the shape the viewer reads first.
- Too many moves: spinning, jumping and waving together blur the costume. Pick one move.
- Flat, harsh light: a bright strobe on sequins turns them white. Use one steady key light instead.
- Mismatched scale: a huge headpiece on a small body looks pasted on. Use a reference where the costume sits in proportion.

Can I use a costume photo taken at a real carnival?
Yes, if you took it or have the right to use it, and the adults in it agreed to appear. The studio asks you to confirm those rights before each render.
Why do my sequins look flat in the clip?
Sequins need one clear light and a dark background. Flat light or a bright backdrop turns them into a grey texture. Name the light in the prompt: “one hard key light, dark background”.
Can I change the costume colors?
You can describe a new color, such as midnight blue instead of gold, and the model redraws the piece. Prints and fine patterns may change, so test in Medium first.
Will the feathers keep their shape for thirty seconds?
Long clips give movement more time to drift. Keep the move simple, one plume lift or one turn, and use the 10-second length when the plume is the star.
Can I recreate a famous carnival look?
Borrow the mood, the palette and the spirit of the festival, but never a real person. Celebrities and lookalikes are refused.
